Dose Alert Detection

Dose Alerts are like Custom Notifications but are significantly more advanced and wider reaching. Dose Alerts are based on Dose Alerts settings, which are used to specify alert criteria and Dose Alert Results, which are termed Dose Alerts, which are detected in using Alert Scanning.

The Dose Alerts Detected listing tab includes a simple work flow mechanism to hide Dose Alerts that have been detected, noted, reported, analysed and otherwise already handled by the RSO and which will over time clutter the Dose Alerts Detected list.

Clearing Dose Alerts

If the RSO wishes Dose Alerts that have been handled and are now of historical importance only, can be set to Cleared meaning that for now the RSO has finalised investigations into the Dose Reading or Dose Aggregate. A Dose Alert is cleared by clicking the Cleared [  ] tick box for the Dose Alert in the Dose Alerts Detected listing tab or the Cleared [  ] tick box in the Dose Alert Details page.

Cleared Dose Alerts are automatically hidden from the Dose Alerts Detected list but can be easily made visible by clicking the Show Cleared tick box at the lower right corner of the Dose alerts Detected listing tab.

                                                                                                                              Show Cleared Option

Dose Alerts can be uncleared by clicking the tick box again in either location. In both cases a prompt is displayed for confirmation of the clear or unclear event.

In the Dose Alert list tab multiple Dose Alerts can be selected and cleared or uncleared together using the Clear or Unclear button displayed when the rows are selected;

                                         Multiple Detected Alerts Selected

         Clear Button Appears on Selection

If [Yes] is selected in response to the prompt all highlighted Dose Alerts are hidden from view. The User can show the Cleared Dose Alerts again by ticking the Show Cleared [  ] tick box;

                                                                     Clear Dose Alerts                                         Show Cleared Option

Cleared Dose Alerts are automatically sorted to the bottom of the Dose Alerts list and are shown in a different colour. This is a basic workflow measure to help in sorting Dose Alerts currently of interest verses those that have been fully investigating and it allows each to be seen as a separate set.

Deleting Dose Alerts

Sometimes the RSO may want to delete Dose Alerts. This happens often when Dose Alerts have been detected against experimental or Activity Based criteria and the results are no longer needed. In this case any Dose Alert that has been Cleared can be deleted, provided there are no subordinate data items present for the Dose Alert which would be in breach of the Dose Alert delete rules below. In the example provided here there are three Cleared Dose Alerts selected.

                    Cleared Dose Alerts First Selected

Dose Alert Delete Rules

When a User tries to delete a Cleared Dose Alert three rules are checked and a prompt is shown if any of the Delete Rules are breached;

A Dose Alert cannot be deleted if one or more File Notes has been recorded for it.

A Dose Alert cannot be deleted if one or more Causal Factors has been selected for it.

A Dose Alert cannot be deleted if one or more Follow up Actions has been selected for it.

A Wearer record with any Dose Alerts present cannot be deleted.

Historion denies the delete. A prompt indicating why and what to look for is shown;

Dose Alert Details and Analysis

Dose Alerts that have been detected as scan results against a Dose Alerts Setting are accessible from their View hyperlink in the Dose Alerts listing tab.

The Dose Alert Details tab for the Dose Alert is shown, providing a place for detailed analysis and follow up of Dose Alert and to record all communications and investigation outputs for the Alert. This includes a number of purpose-built features;

                                                                                                                      Link back to Applicable Dose Alert Setting tab

Casual Factors     Follow up Actions

Causal Factors

The Causal Factors link provides a selection list for common causes of high Exposure Values and high Exposure Aggregates. This list can be adjusted by a System Administrator User, in the Lookups tab under System Settings. The Causal Factors are provided to allow future reporting and analysis of selected data items that describe the ways in which different types of Dose Alerts are occurring.

Follow up Actions

The Follow Actions link provides a selection list for common responses to high Exposure Values and high Exposure Aggregates. This list can be adjusted by a System Administrator User, in the Lookups tab under System Settings. The Follow Actions are provided to allow future reporting and analysis of selected data items that describe the ways in which organisations respond to different types of Dose Alerts detected.

Cause Summary and Analysis

The Cause Summary field allows a maximum of 150 characters and is intended to provide a succinct line that provides sufficient text to understand the cause of a Dose Alert when read from a list. The Analysis field for the Dose Alert cause is theoretically unlimited. The Analysis Field is suitable for detailed qualitative paragraphs of information on the Dose Alert cause if needed.

Follow up Summary and Detail

The Follow up Summary field allows a maximum of 150 characters and is intended to provide a succinct line that provides sufficient text to understand the response to Alert when read from a list. The Detail field for the Dose Alert Follow Up is theoretically unlimited. The Detail Field is suitable for detailed qualitative paragraphs of information on the Alert response by the organisation if needed.

Alert Readings Individual Dose

The Alert Readings tab takes the User directly to the applicable Dose Reading with its Dose Report and highlights the Dose Reading with a yellow band, ensuring the Dose Readings are easy to locate;

Alert Readings Aggregate Dose

The Alert Readings tab groups together the set of Dose Readings that contribute to an Aggregate Dose Alert being detected for a Threshold that is based on total exposure for a time interval.

 If the Alert Readings list is scrolled to the right, to the Alert Limit column coloured columns appear. These columns rare provided to assist with interpretation and understanding of the mathematics behind aggregate based Dose Alert results which can be difficult to work out.

This is especially valuable for a complex outcome where the default Dose Annualization method involves averaging Dose Readings across timeframes and where one or more Dose Reports spans more than one interval.

Dose Reports with values contributing across more than one interval have their total contributing value reduced so that their effect on the outcome is apportioned. These values are separately indicated in blue text for clarity. All mathematical operations are indicated across the coloured columns and provide an Alert Readings breakdown, see below.

File Notes

The File Notes tab in Dose Alert details tab allows collection of external communication, emails, reports etc. that pertain to the investigation and handling of the Dose Alert.

File Notes and associated Attachments, if present, work the same way throughout Historion and are further covered in their respective sections. Only the context and record association changes for File Notes and Attachments in different tab locations.
