Dosimetry Data
Data Transfer Settings
The Online Data Transfer tool is designed to connect to a secure internet-based service, hosted by a provider, to import Dose Readings directly into Historion. The online Data Transfer Tool has many advantages over external Dose Report File Importing, including;
Dose Readings are secure and backed up by the provider before they are transferred
Dose Readings cannot be deliberately or accidentally edited by recipients and they precisely retain the Dosimetry Provider’s reported results.
As the Dose Readings cannot be changed Historion assists the provider with honouring some applicable standards accreditations ensuring original laboratory is transferred and reported.
There is no need to store separate Dose Report files in a local folder or network drive, which has been common practice for retaining Dose Report files.
The Online Data Transfer can be automated using the Historion Dose Automation product.
The Online Data Transfer tool is a faster process, overall, than receiving, saving, storing, finding, importing and working with separate manual Dose Report files.
Steps to Implement Historion Online Data Transfer (Landauer Example)
1)Establish Dosimetry Monitoring with a participating Provider.
2)Obtain a Provider Portal Username and Account.
3)Request a Historion Customer Number Assignment from the Provider.
4)Approve Provider Account Historion Data Transfer.
5)Check Historion Use Landauer Data Service tick box (for Users who will transfer data).
6)Configure Data Transfer settings; refer to the Landauer Data transfer Settings Table.
7)Test and Troubleshoot; refer to Transferring Data Online and Data Transfer Troubleshooting.
The above steps are each described in detail below.
1. Establish Dosimetry Monitoring with a participating Provider
The Historion Online Data Transfer tool feature is available for all Dosimetry Providers to work with and to participate in, to offer the same type of hosted service to their customers that use Historion.
During 2014 Dosimetry Providers in Australia were approached and invited to participate in their own Historion Online Data Transfer scenarios. All Dosimetry Providers are welcome to establish the same data transfer service arrangement with Historion on behalf of their customers that use the Historion Radiation Safety Software.
Genre 5.x and 6.x versions support transfer of data from Landauer® Australasia only. Joint participation between Cybermynd, Landauer and customers in the Online Data Transfer tool implementation resulted in the current successful online service to the benefit of all parties involved, especially Historion end users.
2. Obtain a Provider Portal Address, Username and Account
In order to transfer Dose Readings from a participating Dosimetry Provider’s Portal, a Username and Password are required to login to their Portal. This is typically accessible via a web site prompting the portal for the Provider. The Landauer Australasia at www.landauer.com.au example is shown below;

Access to the portal requires a User name and Password;

3. Request a Historion Customer Number Assignment from the Provider
Historion customers are issued with a Customer Number. The Customer Number is also the Licence Number and it is their Historion Implementation Number. The Customer Number uniquely identifies Historion installations.
The Dosimetry Provider, only, records the Historion Customer Number against their customer’s account or accounts. This gives the Dosimetry Provider service usage information for and control over their hosted data service for the Dosimetry Readings.
In the Landauer example Accounts are accessed via the Manage Account page after logging in;

Double-click to access Account details
Accessing account details requires a double-click on the account’s row in the accounts list;
The Account Details page contains typical Account related fields and approximately halfway down the Account Details page a Historion section is included beneath the Historion logo.
The Historion Customer Number is show in the Historion rectangle (91 in the example below).

4. Approve Provider Account Historion Data Transfer
The Historion Customer, only, provides the approval for their Historion implementation to access their online portal data. This is done, once for each Account, by ticking the checkbox next to the agreement above the Historion Customer Number in the Provider’s Portal. The agreement states;
“I agree to the use of the Landauer-Historion data transfer service and herby permit the transfer service to access online Dose Readings provided by Landauer.”
As the Historion Customer, only, checks the Historion Customer consent for each Account, this gives the Customer control over which Account, if any, are accessed via the online Data Transfer Service.

5. Check Historion Use Landauer Data Service tick box
A System Administrator User can allow Historion Users (including themselves) to access the Data Transfer Service by ticking the Use Landauer Data Service tick box if it is not already ticked.
To do this select the required Historion User (typically a System Administrator) from the Users list which is accessed via the Users icon in the Historion Admin tab.
Note that in order to change the Use Landauer Data Service option for a User the User Date tab must be in Edit Mode and the User must log off after the setting is changed in order for it to take effect;

This setting is commonly missed. Users do not have this option ticked by default. The option allows System administrators to control which users use the Online Data Transfer feature.
6. Configure Provider Data Transfer Settings
The System Settings sub tab within the Admin tab in Historion contains a Data Transfer settings tab under the names of any participating Providers. In Historion genre 5.x and 6.x this is only Landauer Australia and the tab available for Data Transfer settings is the Landauer tab.
Note that the Use Landauer Data Service option must be ticked for the various service settings fields to be displayed with system defaults. When changed settings become Historion User specific.

Landauer Data Transfer settings are described in detail, including network considerations, in the Landauer Data Transfer Settings Table below. The Save as Default link is a convenience feature that allows Historion System Admin users to input settings and use them as the defaults applied when the Use Landauer Data Service option is ticked for a user. Confirmation is requested when this is used;
