Appendix 5

File Type Table

Futures:

The File/Document list page to show total sum of file sizes in database and size in MB (GB) of each attachment type in the list. The File/Document list page to show a File Sizes page which will display a “for reference only” listing page that shows the contents of the file sizes table and advises that “this table can only be changed by script by Historion support or your IT Department.

A change script will be made available at the above hyperlink visible only to System Admins. This will provide a means to change file size limits but ensures IT Department and in particular SQL Server admin involvement in process. A web page will be provided with a description of the process and the default file types recognized and file types set for IT Department purposes.

The current Documents list shows all documents and needs to either be adjusted to filter for User Role permissions associated with document owner and context or optionally only be available to system admins with all documents and context showing.

File Type Table

A default file size limit of 50 MB is imposed in Historion. This is internally controlled by the table tblRefFileType, which indicates maximum sizes, in bytes, by most by most common file types.

File size limits can be set by file type. Additional File Types can be added and existing File Types can be removed. The following is a summary of the default content of the file Type governing table.

The File Type and Size Governing table is under the control of Historion database administrators with access to the Historion tables. The File Type and Size Governing Table is deliberately not a customisable feature in Historion and changes to this table must be requested from database administrators.
